The Invisalign® Treatment Procedure
The first step in obtaining properly aligned smile with Invisalign® is to schedule an appointment for a consultation with dentist Paul Skomsky at our welcoming Orlando office serving Winter Park and other Central Florida communities. While Invisalign® clear braces allow us to create striking results for many of our patients, not all cases of misaligned teeth are appropriate for Invisalign® correction. If you are determined to be a candidate for Invisalign® treatment, Dr. Skomsky will identify the ideal positions for your teeth to migrate towards in order to achieve the ultimate effect you'd like, and he will then plan a course of Invisalign® treatment that will allow you to reach that goal. Shortly thereafter, you will receive the first in a series of transparent Invisalign® aligners, each of which will be worn day and night for approximately two weeks while it straightens your smile comfortably and invisibly – simply remove the aligners for meals, brushing, and flossing. While total treatment time varies depending on each individual patient's unique needs and desires, most patients are able to enjoy a perfectly aligned smile with between nine and 15 months of Invisalign® treatment, compared to 12 to 30 months on average for traditional orthodontics. Patients who select Invisalign® also avoid many of the annoyances that accompany conventional metal braces, as Invisalign® aligners contain no wires, metal, or brackets to cause mouth irritation.
